The green siblings not being cared for by their father is a common experience among high-born children. Still, it's that neglect being in favor of Rhaenyra that is traumatizing. He demonstrated that he could be an unconditionally loving and protective father just not to them.
This isn't to minimize the neglect that Rhaenyra experienced during the earlier stages of her life, especially when her mother died. That is a version of him her younger siblings never knew. Even so, when it came down to it, Alicent's children got the shorter end of the stick.
