Dostoevsky says the soul is healed by being with children, because we experience what we were and what we ought to be now. For children everyone is their friend, and no one is their enemy. Meanwhile we are stuck in the opposite. We must become like children again through Christ.
Children are quick to forgive; they do not doubt what their father tells them. They believe. Many children dislike when attention is put on them. Because they are more humble than we are, and do not seek pride. They just want to be. And we want to do anything else but just be.

This is beautiful: the mother's love and joy in her child, the joy of the priest performing this sacred rite. When Dostoevsky said beauty will save the world, this is what he meant, not the beauty of a great painting or sunset, but the beauty of love.
