For Labour to imply that anything close to £170 billion could be raised in some sort of windfall tax is nothing short of misinformation.
This morning’s fact check on this new dodgy statistic👇
@tomhfh
In one breathe they slam BP and they next they want to raise 130 oil rigs in the stormy North Sea working 21 12 hour shifts day or night in a row away from family with only a helicopter transfer in storms at night 300 miles navigation on a 10 yard landing pad costing 1 trillion
@tomhfh
Who said the taxes will bring in £170 billion? That's how much they're making.
Amazing that you're trying to act as though you're against misinformation, your channel thrives on it.
@tomhfh
Tom is being deliberately disingenuous again
This time it's to distract from the govt's idea of lending our money back to us to help pay for the increased energy bills, while not bothering to raise a penny from any other sources, or improving regulation over the industry
@tomhfh
@CarverEmily
It's not misinformation, it's a complete and utter lie. Starmer is advocating to somehow tax foreign companies on their earnings from foreign countries.
Nine members of the new Cabinet have failed to correct the record on misleading claims they’ve made this year.
We’re supposed to trust these people to navigate us through the crises facing the country. But from what we’ve seen, they won’t even correct their own mistakes.
A semi-competent browser of the Internet would be able to establish that U.K. oil and gas giants aren’t making £170bn in excess profits. According to public gov documents, their total profits for 2021 was £30bn and in 2022 they will be around £40bn (which is taxed at 65%).
@tomhfh
Another Labour sloppy assertion, accepted by complicit media, is that income inequality has been rising under the Tories. ONS data () shows it peaking under Labour in 07/08 just before the financial crisis, & declining since.
Boris "delivered" the biggest fall in the pound since 1984.
The most food banks Britain has ever had. The biggest divide between rich and poor. I could go on...
@tomhfh
@gbnews
& facts 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Are you calling
@BloombergUK
liars then?
UK Sees Up to £170 Billion Excess Profits for Energy Firms
Estimates over next two years show potential of windfall tax
@tomhfh
@turner1158
Starmer lied again in the energy debate, it's all for TV news, the energy solution by Truss is a very good one,and opposition hate it because it is a great solution.Liebour is all about politics,a total policy vacuum,as Churchill said liebour is all about the politics of envy.
@tomhfh
For
@tomhfh
to imply that left-handed people should be castrated at birth is nothing short of misinformation.
See what happens when you try to make a story out of something that never happened?
