How lockdowns are decided in Melbourne:
1. AFL told
2. Cabinet meets to decide lockdown
3. Guy who’s girlfriend works at DHS tells you
4. Media are told off the record, report it
5. Official announcement made.
I’ve just loved this club for so long. The downs, the other downs. The cold, rainy days at the G. In the end, all I can think about is the players, administrators and the fans who have given everything when it seemed this moment would never happen. It happened.

BREAKING: Victorians have been banned from attending AFL and NRL games in NSW. Sporting fans will be asked to present ID upon entry as part of biosecurity measures.
Apparently, Nathan Buckley had a few drinks, fell asleep on the couch and got up to go to the bathroom and walked out the wrong door and into a tennis match.
The English Cricket team may not have won a test, or been particularly good at cricket, but they managed to clear Australian customs which is no mean feat.

Great to see Novak Djokovic will play in the Australian Open following an exemption permission. It’s tennis players who will get us through this pandemic.
Jaidyn Stephenson has been handed a 22-match ban (12 matches suspended) and fined $20,000. I'm disappointed as I'd backed him to get seven weeks through the AFL's official wagering partner.
I remember being so excited the day of a one dayer and if Deano went out early I’d be devastated all day. Cricket was such an exciting game then and he just made it compulsory viewing. This feels like those summers of youth are just that much further away now.
Felt very flat earlier learning I can’t do anything on Grand Final day but then I remembered a bit of grass from the MCG is being driven to Queensland in a refrigerated truck to be sown into the Gabba surface and it made up for everything.
Things I’d like to see in the Victorian Government announcement tomorrow:
-Allowed to see family
-pubs, cafes and restaurants allowed to have outdoor dining
-A new commentary team for the Grand Final
"Lachie Hunter shows the pressure we're all under."
Really? I know heaps of people who are really struggling at the moment without side swiping four cars while drunk.
Thinking of everyone around the world right now. It’s such an incredibly stressful time, with nothing less than our future on the line, and the relentless misinformation isn’t helping.
But that’s the AFL Trade Period I’m afraid.
Very sad to hear of Rod Marsh's passing. One of the greats. Had a couple of beers with him at The Front Bar not that long ago and it was everything you could have hoped for. Could he tell a story. A true icon.
Thanks Olympics. You got me through Lockdown Number Five, that brief moment we weren't in lockdown, and the start of Lockdown Number Six. See you in 2024 for lockdowns Number 43 and 44.
