@BlueCatArtist56 Thank you. Telling our stories might spare one person, one family this dread ruin.

My mother had such a slight case of measles when she was carrying my brother in the '40s, she didn't even bother to be "sick." He was born very beautiful w/ no mind. Zero mind. Lived lying down slackly until he was 25. Never walked, thought, or spoke. Measles are very dangerous.

@time4kind I'm sorry for the loss - my aunt's 2nd child, a beautiful girl and like your brother had no mind. She spent her short life in a bed in a care facility. My aunt said she didn't feel sick, like your mom. A slight case.

@time4kind I think there's a lot of stories like ours and I think ppl forget how bad it can be in ways they're not even thinking of. This head in the sand...My aunt was broke over it, I didn't understand it until I was an adult. She visited a lot, making sure she was cared for. 1/

@time4kind 2/ The ones w. no fam visiting could be overlooked somewhat. We also learned this when MIL was in nursing home. Visiting her regularly meant better care. She wasn't left to sit in soiled things after it was caught by fam.
