also, hypersexualization is a big contributor to the MMIW epidemic—it’s about keeping our women safe, women who are 12x more likely to go missing & be victims of violence.
it’s about so much more than cultural appropriation, Yknow? (that’s important too) but to wear fake versions of our traditional dress from a white company when traditional dress & practices were illegal for us 50 years ago in some places is ugly

❌Literally no person has gone missing because someone else wore a sexy costume at some point.
But more importantly than that falsehood is the ugliness of blaming how women dress on violence against women. Ugly AND untrue.
