If you're an indiehacker, do you design in tools like Figma or Sketch before you code?

@sandeep_indie @remotefront Docswrite is amazing. I have seen it somewhere around. Btw: docswrite design looks better than remotefront 🤣 Design in code wins over Figma here.

@tarasowski 20% of the time I use Figma if my idea/design isn’t super clear yet Generally I have a picture of the design I need and I just code it An example of this is the new video converter page I shipped I saw some inspiration on dribbble and went to work

@michaelaubry You remixed another design, right 😀? Do you use any libraries for html/css? Your design looks amazing.

@tarasowski When I have too many ideas in the head, I use figma to look at them on the canvas. Iterating here is easier than code. But for few things it feels like a chore so I start off with code.

@aravindballa I'm following the same approach as you, but only for the landing pages. Most of my backends are designed directly in code. Actually one of my last designs in code 👇

@tarasowski I use Figma for styling icons and other images. I use UI kits like to see which component designs I like and integrate them directly.

@tarasowski I have used @sketch to build a prototype and validate the idea before build. Note i am a non developer founder, which may change things

@tarasowski I do like a super quick mock-up just so that I have some UI / colors before jumping into it

@tarasowski Not at all. I only use Figma at work lol. To me it's distracting and pure waste of time, I prefer trial and error directly in the code.

@tarasowski Occasionally. Mostly I just try to get something working and then get it looking ok. But more and more I find it useful to design first then code.
