nothing has ever bothered me more than just about every live action cyclops beam having fire or smoke around the aftermath, ive resorted to coping by saying its friction burns

even if its not hard confirmed as canon, the dimension of pure concussive force is funny enough that i *will* cope however possible to make it hold up

Tbf several comics show burns and such too its just to explain why it blasts people instead of cutting through them

That is generally the explanation, that the concussive force is so sudden the impact generates heat. The inverse is true for Havok's blasts
