So that JK Rowling tweet flushed out a load of pompous men and TRAs who think misgendering is a far worse crime than rape. It's good to know what these people's priorities are.

It’s chilling. These men think that women should defer to a penis-toting rapist when describing *our own* experience of violence. They don’t see women as human beings with feelings - that gets clearer every day.

The reason some men, be they trans or trans "allies," genuinely think being called "he" is worse than being raped is because the idea of women being raped arouses them, & because they believe women want to be raped. They don't see that rape is violence & violation.
Time all people who agree that self identifying is a cruel absurdity decided to self identify as their local politician and so demand all their worldly goods. That would be fair.
@suzanne_moore
They seem to be implying that male rapists who say they are women are the same as trans women? They come across as ‘phobic & an ally only to rapists. They haven’t thought this through at all🤦♀️

Several years ago, that mimmymum account told Young Crone (who was later thrown off here for her feminism) that misgendering Ian Huntley was as bad as what he'd done. This is not a new view, sadly.
(At the time, the tabloids were wrongly saying Huntley said he was trans)
@suzanne_moore
You forgot to put 'misgendering' in inverted commas. There's nothing wrong with referring to a male ♂️ individual as "he", regardless of any claims he might make about his "gender identity" (which is based on subjective feelings and therefore impossible to verify).

I would like to have a list of the ‘authors’ who spoke in support of rapists’ feelings so I never ever touch/teach/buy a book they wrote!
