@DanRather I believe the intent of 99%+ of attendees was a "peaceful & patriotic" march on the capitol in protest, as guaranteed by the Constitution. A small number got carried away & mostly engaged in egregious acts such as taking selfies & trespass. To suggest insurrection is ludicrous.

@bradfordwillis @DanRather They were shouting threats of violence while they assaulted the police. Some brought zipties. Every last one of them was there based on 100% LIES about the election.

@LairdStuff @DanRather Not sure who shouted what, but that is not illegal. Possession of zip ties is not illegal, and I'd bet that only a tiny fraction of anyone had those. In terms of lies, that's not relevant, as people are allowed to assemble to address their grievances.

@bradfordwillis @DanRather When you're illegally smashing your way into a federal building intent on overturning a lawful election the items you bring and the threats you shout speak VOLUMES about your intent.

@LairdStuff @DanRather That's called trespassing, which is a misdemeanor. It's not ok, but it's not an insurrection. Let's not lose sight of the fact that an unarmed female veteran was shot to death while committing a misdemeanor. Bad behavior can't be excused by anyone, but it's not an insurrection.

@bradfordwillis @DanRather It's not just trespassing on federal property when you're shouting death threats and carrying implements designed to take hostages aka zip ties. It gets A LOT more serious when you consider death occurred during the commission of this crime.

@LairdStuff @DanRather Do you have videos of any of this? If you do, I'd love to get a link. If a few fools shout threats or have zip ties, that is not an insurrection. I carry handcuffs in my car, btw. I have no intention of using them unlawfully.
