Any clue why the women’s tournament featured two separate four-team round robin fields rather than the standard quarters/semis/finals format with teams finishing 1st through 8th?

Well no teams could be eliminated because you won’t get people to travel all this way for maybe one game. And if they keep playing there are too many potential combinations of W/L

Isn't that incredible? 8 undefeated top notch teams in two tournaments, and only one comes out unscathed. And Louisville is not even close to their potential. If you're not following the Cardinals, you're not a fan
of basketball.
