@mjmanson
That doesn’t justify doing this when this happened to Rogers in the extra-inning blowout.
8 of the 12 runs that Tyler Rogers has given up have come pitching on the back-end of back-to-back games. A GOOD manager recognizes this shit.
@sfgiantfutures
If he could have put in Rogers to get one guy out and then pull him and put in the next guy it may have been successful but he has made some questionable decisions on the bullpen that’s true
@PLS4061
That’s such a piss excuse. That’s like a driver driving into a wall, and saying “Oh, that wall wasn’t there last year, if they didn’t put that wall in, I’d be fine.”
The wall is there now. Everyone knows it. So putting Rogers in that situation is just idiotic.
@sfgiantfutures
Think back to criticisms of Boch and his handling of the staff before 2010. I was there and it happened. Kapler is not Boch, but I think it’s a bit early for that type of 🔥 take
@jsully1075
Oh, and Boch had his hiccups. I definitely had problems with how he handled the bullpen in 2016.
But with Kapler, there’s two things that add in to this. First: This was a highly-cited problem with his time in Philadelphia, as well.
