It could definitely be. Kaggle's existing user base and in-house kernel support will definitely be an advantage over Huggingface's model hub.
However, I don't yet see a feature for users to upload their models on Kaggle Models so it's a long way to go but I am all in for Kaggle!

Kaggle hosting models and Huggingface running competitions. Great to see the efforts on both sides! imho the lowest hanging fruit for a dramatic improvement and revenue ramp at kaggle is if they would just offer paid instances in the Notebooks.

Models , datasets , lots of competition data ,notebooks kernels and a ready to go massive user base almost sounds like they are transitioning from a ml competitions platform , to a model delivery platform
