on the Club Q shooting. The “people killed in the nightclub that night, there is no evidence/that they were Christians. Assuming they have not accepted the truth/affirmed Christ as the lord of their life they are now reaping the consequences of eternal damnation.”

Its the horrible translation of the NIV, its a poison to Christianity and its the primary bible of the Evangelicals. I would be (if not prohibited by my faith) willing to bet these all read the NIV exclusively.

There is only one ☝🏼 Bible….my bet is you’ve never read it in it’s entirety or if you have, you need to study and meditate on the word to fully understand. At the end of the day we are entirely responsible for ourselves in where we will spend eternity 🙏

Indeed, positive things like being kind and helpful. In Sunday school we were taught acceptance and love. We were told that Jesus loves the little children of the world.

I have a feeling that many of the self righteous figures on the right have only read the parts of the Bible they can misinterpret to excuse their horrendous hate-mongering.

Yea? Read it one time. Numbers 31 Moses slaughters women and children POWs but spares the virgins as sex slaves for soldiers. 1st Timothy has the rules for beating a slave, returning an escaped one to its owner. Leviticus- work on the Sabbath - death, rape a virgin just $30 fine

Yes, but God said an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Jesus would not have condoned weakness by allowing others to blatantly take advantage of you. He tells us to be courageous.

The US was not/is not a Christian nation. The forefathers were NOT Christian. Many of the founding fathers—Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, Paine and Monroe—practiced a faith called Deism. Deism is a belief in human REASON as a reliable means of solving issues

The US is a nation of many belief systems and they are all welcome unless their belief hurts others. John Adams: “the Government of the United States…is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion” – Pres. John Adams. Treaty of Tripoli 1797
