The issue with it is how much people dickride the game. It's alright, but people think it's peak fiction and peak character design when most of it is heavily inspired. The entire abyss order is just ripped from FF14 Ascians. Music is good tho, I'll give it that.

The setting of Genshin Impact was something that's very appealing & cool, and definately fulfills my escapist fantasies, but the story ranges from decent to bad, sadly enough.
Same for the characters too, and I just stopped playing quite a while ago. Might try out Sumeru tho.

I hate how much the characters are praised when in all honesty some of them look like run of the mill curvy anime girls you'd see in a typical anime

i get your point and i agree with you, i know there are better games out there which i havent played yet. Anyways, i dont see the problem in liking genshin impact at all, im no gambling addict for i save up almost everything i get unless i totally need a character, etc...

Oh yeah, hell no, i dont think its peak fiction. I dont think its some "award winning game" in any way. But i like the game, and thats really all it is. I dont think game deserves any sort of "top tier" praise but all of the games content is free and its a fun experience
