Good foster homes make such a difference in the socialization and confidence of these cats/kittens.
I volounteer for a cat rescue. I have a shy foster kitten who will have a kitty friend move in this afternoon. I hope the orange boy can teach the frightened guy how to play.

Sometimes I need people to remember that we are a cat *rescue.* Most of the cats we take in don’t come from the best circumstances. A lot of them are shy, some have medical needs, almost all of them will need time to show you their best selves & you’ll have to help them love you.

We literally could not do any of this without amazing foster homes! Even with fostering, transitions from one safe home and trusted human to another can be scary for older cats without that critical kittenhood foundation.
