As schools are shut, could the BBC pro-actively give up one of its channels to Education, following school syllabuses? To encourage & inspire, especially households with limited internet access? (It’s late and I haven’t thought this through btw)

@rorybremner For which year group? Which subject? There are 14 school years and 6 hours a day. It's not possible.

@coleraineyid But why let the perfect be the enemy of the good? The year before exams would be a start.

@rorybremner Why? They are not shut. Secondaries are teaching a full timetable remotely. They are not closed! No time for the tv learning. Maybe for primary....

@rorybremner @CeliaGr28535021 How many channels would be needed to cover the curriculum over 15 years of school ages. It could play a part, but the government has had since April and the best they could come up with is 10 laptops and 6 test kits per school in September.

@rorybremner This is a good idea however after the last few years I would not trust the BBC to educate anything. It’s just far left Marxist propaganda so sorry I am out!

@rorybremner The French have been doing this since March last year. Educational programmes throughout the day on one public channel. Programmes for younger children morning, older pupils afternoon. Designed and presented by teachers and in line with national expectations. Excellent.
