As schools are shut, could the BBC pro-actively give up one of its channels to Education, following school syllabuses?To encourage & inspire, especially households with limited internet access? (Itβs late and I havenβt thought this through btw)
@rorybremner
Why? They are not shut. Secondaries are teaching a full timetable remotely. They are not closed! No time for the tv learning. Maybe for primary....

How many channels would be needed to cover the curriculum over 15 years of school ages. It could play a part, but the government has had since April and the best they could come up with is 10 laptops and 6 test kits per school in September.

This is a good idea however after the last few years I would not trust the BBC to educate anything. Itβs just far left Marxist propaganda so sorry I am out!

The French have been doing this since March last year. Educational programmes throughout the day on one public channel. Programmes for younger children morning, older pupils afternoon. Designed and presented by teachers and in line with national expectations. Excellent.

I remember in the day most mornings were devoted to children's programmes and very useful and informative they were too
Why did they end?
