- Dorset Council says it told the contractors running the vessel about the Legionella result on Monday, the day that migrants were moved onto the barge.
- The Council says it told a Home Office official verbally on Tuesday.
- Despite that, more people were moved onto the barge on Thursday & it was only evacuated on Friday.
- The Home Office has said the first it found out about the test result was on Wednesday evening.
- Dorset Council is now suggesting someone in the dept knew earlier.
- Dorset Council insists, as the enforcement body for health, it was not responsible for formally telling the Home Office about the test results.
- The Council says the two firms contracted by the govt to run the barge should have told the Home Office.
- Tonight one of the firms contracted to run the barge told Sky News "Landry & Kling, along with project partners, have followed all written recommendations made by Dorset Council Environmental Health".
- We have approached the Home Office for a response.
On the assertion from Dorset Council that they told the Home Office about the legionella on Tuesday, a govt source tonight says there's no record of that conversation & has pointed to details from UKHSA saying they only found out about the test result on Wednesday as well.
Govt source says Dorset Council is claiming they mentioned the legionella test result in a meeting late on Tuesday when a junior Home Office official was present with the contractors.
Source says, even if this is true, this doesn't amount to notifying an official verbally.
Govt source says they have no record of this anyway & that the first proper written notification regarding the test was on Wednesday evening.
They say UKHSA advice only came on Thursday evening to take six people off the barge & they took everyone off on Friday as a precaution.
Govt source saying Dorset Council didn't tell the Home Office about test result when they knew on Monday & only told UKHSA on Wednesday.
Dorset Council says it wasn't their job to notify the Home Office & says that was the responsibility of the contractors - who knew on Monday.
Dorset Council says a Multi Agency Forum Place & Regulatory subgroup meeting took place on Tuesday 8 Aug which was attended by a Home Office official & the Bibby Stockholm contractors at which the legionella test result was discussed.

Why so slow to act? Are you aware of any exemptions under HASAWA or other UK H&S legislation applicable to this accommodation & where people are working; as itโs a barge, is not on shore & rented from abroad?
