Not had to dig this out for a few months, but your regular reminder that Boris Johnson signed up to level playing field commitments with the EU in the political declaration 👇
UK Brexit Negotiator David Frost on latest talks with the EU - “I regret... that we made very little progress towards agreement on the most significant outstanding issues between us".
UK negotiator David Frost - “The major obstacle to this is the EU’s insistence on including a set of novel and unbalanced proposals on the so-called “level playing field” which would bind this country to EU law or standards, or determine our domestic legal regimes".

What’s the problem? “...robust and comprehensive...good governanace...appropriate mechanisms...” it all sounds well within current UK Gov’s capabilities.
Yes, but the UK doesn't reject the principle of level playing field. It rejects the EU’s specific demands on what LPF should look like in practice.
I note the curious lack in the PD of dynamic alignment on state aid, a key EU demand
@robpowellnews
So where does it say, that the Level Playing field is based on EU rules? it's just "a level playing field"
Like most you have to read these things, of course we would like to be, fair, equitable, reciprocal but guess what, the EU do not see it that way?
@robpowellnews
I honestly don't think Boris Johnson read the Brexit agreement he signed. This is one of the reasons why he kept telling everyone that there will be no checks across the Irish sea.
@robpowellnews
It doesn't say anywhere in there that we follow the EU rules now does it, it doesn't state the ECJ with gover it. Font mislead people, it's unbecoming
