I am convinced that a very real part of being a good producer is knowing when (& being brave enough) to ask those very basic “groundwork questions” - which can be scary to stop & discuss when ppl are ‘so busy’ since you don’t want to misuse their time or compromise their trust.

Protip: if everyone around you is consistently, intimidatingly busy… you probably EXTRA need to stop & revisit some groundwork with that team, in my experience.
