@TSLAFanMtl Wouldn’t be surprised if Tesla US decides going for the kill and drops MYLR down to 55k. That would be almost game over for other EVs.

Tesla about to inflict a lot of pain on competitors. Margins will drop but not as much as ppl fear…production growing very fast and costs will fall alongside it. Berlin and Austin will have much higher gross margin than Fremont and neither factory will increase opex.

@pugxi @TSLAFanMtl You would be surprised at how many people could not afford a $55,000 car. That is twice the cost of a lot of the competitors. The MY LR went up around $15,000 in 2021. The cheapest Model Y (standard range RWD) available in the US went from around $40,000.

@allenbaylus @TSLAFanMtl Not really. I’m fully aware of Model Y pride historic. The avg selling price of all new cars in US is over $48k. So selling MYLR at 55k with $7500 rebate will make it affordable to most Americans, even more so if you do lease as most Americans do.

@pugxi @TSLAFanMtl Chevrolet Bolt EUV is only $32k and feels like driving a real car made by people who actually know how to build them, you know the trim stays on the panels for together well, really a lovely driving experience. Blue cruise, their ADAS, doesn't ever try to kill you, which is nice.

@pugxi @TSLAFanMtl I would buy a model Y LR at that price.
