That would seem a reasonable strategy than the so-called de-risking strategy. Unfortunately, the EU has lost the competitive edge.

This is a good advice. Europe needs to increase its competitiveness. The best ways would be:
1. slash regulations & bureaucracy
2. reduce taxes
3. remove most sanctions
Sadly NONE of the above politically possible, thus I believe European economy will stall for decades.

US is trying to prevent Europe’s access to world’s biggest market and source of great cost effective components, products and infra. If they have good relationship with China, they can easily beat US in many areas, which US doesn’t want.
