This is, by far, the most daunting project I filmed. FDM printing with resin, pumped with a non-pulsating peristaltic pump and cured with standard laser modules!
I worked for more than 3 months to this point. I built a 3D printer from scratch with multiple independent moving portals and a grill plate as a heated bed. This was the moment where I first tested it. Man what a journey!
I'm currently developing a 3D printer, my biggest project in a single video so far, and the first core XZ portal is put together. It's printed out of
@BambulabGlobal
PET-CF on the X1 carbon, held together with CF rods and tensioned by twisting Dyneema wire. Stay tuned!
Today is a special day for me. I said good bye to all my colleagues and I'm a fulltime YouTuber now! This is a surreal feeling. Thanks everyone for watching my videos and the overwhelming amount of support and positivity! What a journey this is!
This is a nozzle made for FDM resin printing. The resin doesn't flow from the center, but from the channels in the circumference between those O-rings. Hopefully it works!🤞
Today I received the Papilio Lite Extruder which also uses timing belts to push filament. This tiny thing feels solid and looks great! Here's more info about the project
I managed to print the Nylon like resin from 3Dresyns and made the improved version of the Proper Extruder! I'm going to test it by 3D printing a guitar neck, pretty cool right?
This 3D printed rim has been mounted to this car over a year ago and it remained intact ever since! Today I'm swapping it back because I actually want to drive it😆
Today is a big day for me. We launched the new website ! We've put a lot of effort into it and I think it turned out great! I'm also sharing articles on there on my quest to become less dependent on YouTube. Subscribe to my newsletter while you're there!
I really like this homing sequence which always selects tool 1. Finally a new video which I made for the Modification Masters contest by
@Creality3dprint
More info about the contest:
I received a comment suggesting to use flanged nuts, placed reversed in a hexagon hole to make it work with sheet material. This is just brilliant! Maybe it'll work for 3D prints with thin walls too🤔
"Generate a 911 transcript where a stressed out Joel Telling, host of the 3D Printing Nerd, reports that his 3D printer caught fire, but with a funny twist". ChatGPT, this is insane 😂
I'm still having difficulties believing it, but it looks like I've won the
@Creality3dP
contest with that rocker! I can call myself an award winning designer! Thanks everyone for your support, this is insane!!
This is the non-pulsating peristaltic pump printed out of resin to print resin (and other stuff). Such a satisfying build, files available soon!
ps. it can also be FDM printed
An FDM version of the Proper Extruder out of this fluor green PLA from
@3d4makers
. This is a 2.85mm version with an
@E3DOnline
V6 hotend for my upcoming video! Looks neat right?
The video I posted yesterday gained a lot of attention (almost 3x the amount of views in the same time span). The comments made me realize that I could've done a better job explaining the idea. So I wrote this short article and yes, it's a bit cursed🤣
The box with almost all off-the-shelf components required for the 3D printer I'm developing! I finally made an accurate BOM and in total the printer requires a little over 900 individual parts😅
I didn't post much lately and that was because I needed to take some rest. I decided to separate my studio from my home and here I am, in my new studio! Next chapter here we go!
It took a while, but the files of the Proper Extruder can be downloaded for free! Check the video in which I print the world's most flexible filament with it!
It's starting to look great! Trolley is finished, all motors rotate (in the right direction), everything heats up and I managed to pair the LED controller! Still some work left to do and of course not everything went perfect, that'd be boring😅
I just received this sleek
@Creality3dprint
Sermoon D1! What I should do: upgrade the sh*t out of it to print technical materials like PC, PA etc. or leave it as is for once?
If you think you're having a bad day, just take a look at this picture of me screwing up 4kg of
@3d4makers
filament which I tried to respool. They're my filament sponsor, and I couldn't wish for a better one, but this is not the intended use😅
OK, I'm going to pitch a simple idea: what if filament manufactures put the weight of an empty spool on its label? This would make life so much easier! I'm in doubt if I have enough PC do do the job😅
