This man threatened me last evening. I was walking in a park with at least 10-15 other regulars. He had put the handle bars on the walking track. I politely requested him to move it as someone might fall.

He started shouting at me and asked me to get the guard if i had so much problem and that he can put the handle bars wherever he pleases. When i pulled my phone out to take a picture he started posing. I figured he's mad and continued my walk. I informed the watchman.

The watchman went and requested him to move the bars and apparently he slapped the watchman. When i reached that side for my next round, he ran towards me with the handle bars and i shouted at the top of my voice for him to stay away from me.

He threatened me saying this area is his. I will show u. You wait right here, will get my guardian & make sure u can't come to this garden again 'ye Mera area hai. Tere ko dikhata hai abhi. Mein mere guardian ko le ayega. Tu ruk idhar hi. Tere garden aana band nahi kiya toh dekh'

He said this and ran out of the garden. No one stopped to help. Probably they were listening to music and didn't notice or didn't care. The guard didn't leave my side even for a second. I called the police and continued walking with the guard till the police arrived.

Although I was shaken that this could happen in such a 'safe area' and cursing myself that I can't come here again for my safety, i kept telling myself these horrible men shouldn't be allowed to claim public spaces. The police arrived in 5 mins, dropped me home in their van

I do not feel safe to step out and go back to my walks right now. But I will not let fear and these assholes take away my freedom. Thank you
