It took me several years to pay off, but I did it on a teacher salary. The debt is paid—you forgot to post that. I couldn’t even pay to keep my heat on and broke the glass top on my range as I was using it so often to heat my kitchen. I know what it’s like to struggle, Gregg.
The wealthy and well-connected will always use poverty to shame the rest of us, but I’m beyond feeling shame for doing everything I could to keep my kids fed, my bills paid, and working as a teacher with a masters and still not able to get by. I brought home 2100 a month.
Y’all know why I fight…because I know the shame. I know the struggle. Gregg and those like him live to punish the poor and for what? I fight for public schools and kids. He fights to rub our noses in it. It won’t change until we push back. And I’m not ashamed anymore.
But, I’ve never sold my soul to ghouls and I never accepted dirty money. I’m like many…I’m not rich and that’s not a defect. This is why most would never consider running for office, but for me, it’s liberating. The worst they can find is a tax bill that I paid off? Okay.
@piper4missouri
I think it’s amazing that you got a Republican operative to admit that 1) paying taxes is important and 2) taxes should be dedicated to important public services
@piper4missouri
See, people like him look down their nose and find that funny. They have no sense of compassion for people who are struggling or suffering. It’s a personality defect.
@piper4missouri
It’s remarkable to me how quickly “school choice” advocates resort to personal attacks as soon as anyone starts raising substantive fact-based criticisms of their scam policy proposals.
@piper4missouri
I handled these bills everyday for 12+ yrs that I worked for DOR, the majority were Drs, lawyers, realtors, and the like (think HB600), I could go on and on about the crap we saw/heard..
@piper4missouri
Your debt was no different than holding Credit Card debt.
Falling behind can be a fact of life… & anyone that is a serious person knows this.
@piper4missouri
Gregg really leads a sad life to spend time digging up stuff from 8 years ago. The best part is how he proves your points every time he comes up with something. This makes folks like me support you even more. We know the struggle and what it takes to overcome. ♥️
@piper4missouri
Is it Blue states that pay teachers more? Most of the teachers here in CA make $75k+ up to $100K+ with credits and years. Yeah, CA tax more, but it’s not ridiculous. Teacher shortage is due to discipline mostly. Just wondering. 🤷🏽♂️
@piper4missouri
He thinks this is some sort of dig, but it actually highlights how pathetic teaching salaries are and underfunded education is in this state.
So, thanks, Gregg, for proving your point?
@piper4missouri
So what he's saying is, teachers don't make enough money to cover normal household bills? And he think that's some kind of dig??? Really says a lot about the dismal teacher pay there in Republican controlled Missouri.... 🤔
