As a former furry I'm honestly disgusted that many of this is happening in a public space (coughs @ FWA). The drama with Kero was bad enough to make me leave the community entirely, but to see ALL THIS? This is just unacceptable.

I know people are going to say "Every community has it's dark side" and that's true. But...this is animal cruelty, this is grooming, this is...all sorts of wrong. There is NO excuse to have this in a space where all ages are supposedly welcome.

It really just upsets me and turns my stomach to see that this community, that I once called family/home allows behaviour like this to take place. It's absolutely disgusting. I hope one day furries become more aware of how toxic their community really is and fixes it.

Oh yeah, let me add: Furries - a group that advocates for animal rights and well being...have a reoccurring issue of bringing untrained "service animals" into con spaces. Need I remind folks of that poor fox that was brought to MFF?

Didn't expect this to blow up so for the record: I don't hate/resent all furries, and I'm well aware the entire community isn't like this. That's not the point I'm making. Stuff like this is just pushed under the rug so often and it's sickening. Change needs to happen!

@myshantileopon I don't know how it is everywhere, but where I live, it's common a background search is done before entering areas. I used to be an aid at my local elementary school and every day I had to turn in my legal ID for verification, for example.

@pilotpigeons Just regarding adult toys in general, did they not have an 18+ only area to exibit such things? Definitely don't dig the live casting, or even realistic animal toys. That's too far IMO. How could cons manage offenders? How easy is that to check, especially with door reg'?

@pilotpigeons I'm hoping that eventually, all these "misunderstood" furs are swept out for good. Even though they exist, theres still hundreds and hundreds of other furs that are more than 100% happy to drop the receipts to help this community become a better place.

@pilotpigeons Don't blame the fandom. It's a people problem, not a furry one. I can assume you more people like that live outside of the furry fandom instead of inside since the furry fandom is tiny in the overview of the world population. Not one furry I know supports that shit anywhere.

As much as I and others want to out and get rid of these people for good there will always be others that slither into the fandom. Im disgusted this is what the fandom has turned into..
