@pidermun The special is an homage to the Universal Monster films for sure… but it also had people getting burned alive, their necks/stomachs ripped out, & throats slit. Not sure why you’re acting like it being an homage = it actually having the equivalent violence/gore of those films lol

@pidermun I get what you're saying but to be fair, man thing does have some pretty painful looking kills. Also they're cleary comparing it to what the mcu usually puts out

@pidermun It has a cheesiness to it but it’s also undeniably dark and violent. They’re not mutually exclusive.

@pidermun I think you might mean to be “cheesy universal horror movies of the 1930s to 1940s”. Aside from the creature from the black lagoon, goofy 1950s horror was Hammer Studios territory.

@pidermun I think he was more referring to the bits where people were dismembered, incinerated alive, or otherwise torn to shreds by various large and scary beasties. But whatevs.
