The competency crisis in the US isn’t due to ‘DEI’ or whatever. Its due to a move from a competent scientific and engineering corporate technocracy to a consultantocracy where Powerpoint merchants wreck companies usually on behalf of financial spreadsheet types extracting rent.

Boeing is the flagship of U.S. airpower and aerospace. But in recent years, its planes have fallen out of the sky. Why? Boeing is decaying due to succession failure in engineering and on the factory floor. Read the new @bismarckanlys Brief here: 1/n

@philippilk Pretty sure it's the financializaton of society caused by government controlled money and unconstrained credit growth which pushes all companies to focus on quarterly profits and stock prices.

@philippilk On point! Note the countries that are flourishing at present focus their education on science and engineering

@philippilk @tyillc Well yes, but I think you forget to mention that we are in a state of capitalism where Boeing appears to be focused more on shadow banking operations than engineering and production of airplanes. This goes for all American companies for the most part

@philippilk I keep saying something similar but about Sweden, but it is a global trend. Those with influence today are those who have mastered PowerPoint, while often the older generation is more tech and engineering competent but are sidelined as old and boring.

@philippilk Consultants learn only one mode: optimisation. They simply aren’t taught how to build resilience & diffuse knowhow. That’s unnecessary slack that has to be cut. Spent 25 years doing this myself until I discovered Deming, Argyris & systems thinking.

@philippilk @Klompzz The same people implemented DEI my friend. It only makes sense on a Powerpoint slide.

@philippilk A country is its people. And the quality of its people relies on the education system. It was evident decades ago the education system was broken. These manifest in falling bridges, train wrecks, plane crashes, uncompetitive businesses, loss of tech lead, etc. It will get worse.

@philippilk Woke is now the right wing's all encompassing explanation for the failures of capitalism and decline of the US. Couldn't possibly be that everything is going exactly as planned for the oligarchy.

@philippilk If a company hired an MBA to manage it, that company is doomed. I have seen the process first hand. If you hear the phrase “all business are the same so they are run the same” run for your life as far you can
