Why do you think there has been such a substantial and disproportionate growth in the diagnosis for gender identity dysphoria for females between 12 and 18 years old?
Do you really dismiss the possibility of social contagion? Females are more susceptible to social contagion.

An example of social contagion would be suicide. We used to try not to discuss when a young person committed suicide because that was shown to create a wave of more suicides.

Yes. That would be a good analogy except deciding you were left handed didn't require any medications or surgeries. And I have never heard of people who thought they were really left handed de-transitioning back to right handed.

I didn't figure out I was bi until I read about bisexuality at the age of 24. But that's not because I wasn't bi before. It's because I didn't know that what I was was called "bisexual" and that there were other bisexual people out there.

Bigotry is the actual social contagion.
Before 2015, none of you even THOUGHT about trans people, but when the Right lost the fight for Gay Marriage, they had to pivot to a new wedge issue.
And you followed them lockstep, never wondering why this was a problem NOW.

100% social contagion. Anyone that's been to middle and high school should be able to recognize that. They're just denying it because it's their personal agenda. When I was in high school it was the same shit with bisexuality. All of a sudden a bunch of girls claimed to be.

It just means more people are OUT. It doesn't mean there are more of them, or people think it's "cool" or "edgy." It just means it's easier for them to embrace themselves because more of us are happy to embrace them.
