We’re always just told everything. “Oh the people in hell aren’t that bad they’re good people deep inside!” But we don’t see that! We’re shown awful person after awful person and then we’re told “oh we sung a song about friendship they’re good people except they’re not!”
We could’ve been given interesting characters! Characters that were pushed into bad paths when they were alive! We could’ve been given nuance! Even something as simple as “this character killed 12 people to save their daughter” would’ve been interesting.
Give us reason to believe these people deserve redemption! But we don’t get that. We don’t get to see the type of people these characters were when they were alive. We don’t see actual redemption arcs. We’re just told these characters are getting redeemed
And then we’re supposed to see heaven as bad but instead of delving into why they’re bad, we’re just told songs. “These people uphold the rules too strongly!” Okay then show us that? Show us exactly why that’s bad? Don’t just tell us that’s bad and expect us to accept that
Why are we supposed to believe the people in hell are capable of redemption when we all see horrible people? Way too many characters are rapists. And we’re supposed to think they don’t deserve death?
AND WHY IS THERE A CHILD IN HELL?? God Vaggie’s backstory had so much in common. You know what could’ve been interesting? If she befriended someone who did horrible things in their life but ultimately had reasons to do so.
If she heard them out and she genuinely believed they could’ve been redeemed, so she refused to kill them. We could’ve been given actual nuance and not “oh she couldn’t kill a child! Children are innocent!”
How the fuck did warriors do a redemption story with Breezepelt better than hazbin did. How do you fuck up so badly that WARRIORS did what you couldn’t
I do think it’s funny that a couple of people who saw my thread are thinking “wow the person who made this hates fun” because I actually think critiquing media is fun? I have a lot to say and pointing out something’s flaws is actually very important to do
@mtlrosefinch
No we are shown it too. We do see it, Angel Dust helps out and is a good person at times, Dusk and Nifty too. A song doesn`t fix everything.
@JaydenC80154124
It’s incredibly rushed. We don’t see a gradual character arc where we look into why a character wants to get better. Angel Dust just decides to help Nifty out because the plot demands. We don’t see why he changes
@mtlrosefinch
We literally had a whole episode of angle dust redeeming himself, the only reason they learned how to kill an angel is because one of the overlords decided to fight for others not for themselves?????
@mtlrosefinch
...No. *Charlie* thinks that. And is usually proven wrong. All throughout "Happy Day in Hell" everyone around her is contradicting her positive attitude.
@mtlrosefinch
Angel is the character you're speaking about, no doubt pushed down a bad path and doing what he needed to survive. He's actually shown slow changes towards redemption despite relapsing a couple times. Most porn stars are from foster care and/or are groomed into it as minors
