Little evidence of pay restraint in Britain’s boardrooms, but you won’t hear the PM and his cabinet bemoaning the salaries of CEO’s. Apparently it’s just paramedics, physios, midwives, civil servants, teachers, firefighters and all the rest who should tighten their belts. 🤷♂️ 🙄
@nowak_paul
It's in the interest of mainly Tory MPs that the salaries of Private Board Member's be high so that when they lose their seats, get sacked etc they have a decent salary to fall back on.

@Keir_Starmer
Happy New Year son. On your way to making it to PM please can you ensure that there is something in the Manifesto that limits the salaries of these people to a sensible multiple of the average wage. No-one deserves this much money. It's the workers that pay for it!!
@nowak_paul
The irony is never lost on me when the Tories talk of a 'high skilled, high wage economy' and then literally tell millions of highly skilled workers such as nurses, teachers, fire fighters, railway workers (and the list could go on), they all need to show pay restraint.
@nowak_paul
Everyone who can leave public service is doing so. 3 from my section in the final 3 months of 2022. Pretty sure number 4 is on the horizon.

@SaleemulHuq
I have no problem with big bonuses for top management who bring in results against the odds; that is what the bonus system is for; improving competativeness. NONE of these people are doing that, they are presiding over massive losses; this is corruption plain and simple.

@mattprescott
And it’s the FTSE100, meaning maybe 100 of them earn this; others maybe earn a nurses salary in a fortnight or month too. Let alone the PrivateEquity bosses/owners of biz all over the U.K. which pay many staff the below REAL
@LivingWageUK
but selves a similar Yr salary in days

@davjam8
But you’re 100% behind
@Keir_Starmer
who will do nothing. You’ve already said you don’t back undoing anti-union legislation and you don’t support ending Austerity.
You’re not on our side at all.
