@ashwrya7 Spent 3 hours once in a cafe in Paris explaining functioning of diff apps, clearing storage, sending photos to select contacts on whatsapp, other stuff to an old lady ( started of as just lending a charger) She was so grateful. Sent me her garden pictures everyday for 3 weeks.

Train trips just calm me down. Sit by, read a book, peek outside for farms and landscape, see different towns pass by, walk around in the train. Flights just make me all stifled up (of course necessary for long distance)

There is so much suffering around: A friend is going through a messy divorce with fake FIR filed, the rickshaw guy I talked to made not enough in the day eat a meal, a close friend lost his only parent yesterday. Everyone is fighting their own battles & ours is not the biggest

Flight got delayed which meant I would have missed the connection. Jostling at the airport to book flights for next day, a 18 year old kid heard me speak Hindi on the phone, waited and asked for help. Poor lad missed his flight due to security software malfunction at the airport

Annual winter migration from Europe to India for 3-4 months is sort of ideal for me currently. It is supposed to snow in Berlin today, sunset at 4pm. I love winters but not limited sunlight I am lounging in a locality park in mild winter warmth (& attempting to learn German 😅)

Having pockets of assured happiness are important - which is not just for relaxing but will make you deeply content & happy from within whatever else is happening in life. Sports does that for me. 2 hours of intense badminton yesterday, 2.5 hours of football today. I'm happy 😊

A few years out of b school, with couple of years of taste of corporate drudgery, many of us used to say 'One day, I'll just open a cafe'. None of us ever did till now when a dear friend opened a cafe in Bangalore. Absolutely amazing european desserts, khachapuri and pizzas

Visiting tier 3 town after long. Almost no one has airs of wealth, people still sit in verandah soaking sun and chatting across the low boundary walls with neighbours, streets you can cycle without risk of mowed down, surprisingly great sporting facilities. Simple, happy life

Been working on some agility and sprint work. Today, was able to chase down 24 years olds on the wings while playing football. At 36 years old, this felt nice. Some diet cleanup and plyometrics and I can keep competing with college kids for few more years

Highlight of my 4 year Mumbai stay was weekend football group: a stellar set of people, which gave me the sense of community I needed while there. Been 5 years, I moved out, but every year I fly down to Mumbai for a weekend, just to play a game with them again. It's that weekend

See this happening a lot more in younger generation. Last week, met a 23 year old taking a year break- did base camp trek, travelled across Himachal, read a lot of books, was currently volunteering and learning surfing in Karnataka for 2 months.

Saw this brother and sister from a very meagre economic background just spend their time playing, without any screens, and deriving so much joy out of it. Somewhere screens and over ambitiousness of parents have made childhoods of city kids devoid of room for playful spontaneity

One holding back of intuitive action on entering back in Germany after a stay in India is that you can't just stream content on mobile data with as carefree approach as in India. I have one of the cheapest plans and costs 15 euros monthly for 4gb. (Though France was way cheaper)

Yerevan, Armenia has an Indian restaurant which beats each and every Berlin Indian restaurant (for north Indian food) by miles. One of the most authentic Indian restaurant experiences outside India.

Sometimes I still can't get over the marvel of long haul flights. Few hours of sitting/sleeping and suddenly you are in such a different world (country) that it feels totally like magic to the kid in me
