Another update: Olaf Scholz’s trip to China is back on for Nov 3-4. The Chancellery has signaled that he will be taking an industry delegation with him. An interesting choice at a time when his top ministers are discussing ways to reduce Germany’s economic dependencies on China

An update: the Chancellery has communicated privately in the last 24-hours that Scholz is postponing his trip to China, which had been planned for the first week of November. Reasons for the delay are unclear. A trip by year-end is still possible. More in my newsletter next week
