5-Then the vaccine mandates. My husband almost lost his job. Our marriage suffered under the stress. Our children still suffered with being treated like they were “dirty” and we were “othered” and not allowed in public venues.
Why I can’t just get over it, like the Atlantic says I need to do. First and foremost, my children suffered. They had friends die from pandemic policies. 2- we were treated like disgusting vectors of disease, with people crossing the street b/c we dared walk with bare faces.3-
5-schools reopened but were anything but normal. Teachers taught behind screens in their classroom, and activities resumed only if we agreed to test our children for a contagion they were not at risk for serious illness or death.
6-So no. I won’t get over it and move on because unless those in power pay, they will do it again, and the same people who were quick to follow the media narrative, will do it again. We cannot allow this discrimination to happen with impunity.
