Daniel Murphy 2-$24M with Rox.
DJ LeMahieu 2-$24M with Yanks.
Did the Rockies offer LeMahieu the same deal? Did he turn them down? Did he want to leave? Do the Rox think Murphy is better?
In Las Vegas, Jeff Bridich said that when valuing offense, he first considers "run production," he said. "Consistent run production. As we saw in the playoffs, the latest parts of our season, the ability to score in the toughest of situations (dropped off)." ...
Daniel Murphy career 117 wRC+
DJ LeMahieu career 99 wRC+
Jeff Bridich made it clear early on that LeMahieu was not coming back. But in hindsight, maybe his reasons had nothing to do with years or cost or prospects...
(Pardon, career 90 wRC+ for DJ Le)... (And we can quibble about the accuracy of park-adjustments for Coors Field hitters if you really want to waste time...)
@nickgroke
DJ was offered the same but turned it down. Time passes...his price drops and the Yankees make him an offer. Tough organization to turn down in the middle of January.
@nickgroke
Can we please discuss all this rhetoric about how the offseason focus was improving the offense?
+ Murphy - CarGo, Parra, DJL
This doesnβt feel like a competitive team. Feels like 79-83 and the nail in the Arenado coffin.
