New College can confirm we have concluded the review of our outstanding offers, and is pleased to announce that all undergraduate offers made in 2019/20 have been confirmed.
New College has welcomed its newest members - a (small) flock of sheep. As a way of reducing our carbon footprint, the three sheep will help to keep the grass maintained, also producing fleece to help insulate parts of the roofing in Old Buildings.

Fortunate that a picture is worth a thousand words as we don't really have any to describe this one! Photo taken last week (it's very grey and rainy today...)

Exciting announcement!
In 2024, we will open our new, open-air swimming pool in Garden Quad, replacing the largely unused lawn in front of the Mound. The new pool will give them a place to exercise and relax right on their doorstep. Find out more:
Mark Stokes RIP
It is with very great sorrow that I write to inform you that Mark Stokes, until recently our fellow in psychology, died last week.
Our love and sympathy go out to his family, colleagues and friends.
Warden
We are sad to announce the death yesterday of David Raeburn, sometime Rodewald Lector in Classical Languages, an inspiring teacher and loyal friend. Our sympathy goes out to his family, friends and pupils.
At 9 tonight at Compline, he will be prayed for:
Spring has sprung in New College! 🥰
Thank you to our chaplain, Erica, who has shared this wonderful picture of New College Front Quad, the magnolia tree, and our freshly mown lawn!
We're looking back at some highlights of 2022 - one for each month. Here's June:
Our Cloisters are beautiful but in popular culture, they are best known for the tree in front of which Draco Malfoy was turned into a ferret in Harry Potter.
It's always a special time of year when the magnolia starts to blossom in Front Quad.
The wind has already started to blow away some of the petals so here is a selection of photos from the last few days when it was at its peak!
A beautiful shot of the New College Cloisters!
As well as the Cloisters themselves, you can see the Chapel, our famous holm oak, and the New College Bell Tower just peeking through the tree.
Thanks to College Chaplain Erica Longfellow for the photo!
Eating in our Dining Hall (the oldest and tallest in Oxford) is always one of the things that conference guests and summer school students enjoy the most about their trips. This year has been no exception!
How incredible does our Hall look? 😍
We are so happy to have our students back for another year at New College! Here are our postgraduate students enjoying their Freshers’ Formal!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The advert should read 'part-time' as it involves only 8 hours of teaching per week (and some administrative and pastoral support) and has now been updated to reflect this.
On Tuesday 6 June at 9pm in chapel the choir will re-enact The Night Office as it may have been sung in 15th-century Oxford.
Dedicated to St Thomas Becket, this forgotten service has been reconstructed as part of ‘Music in the Shadows’:
Our Cloisters are beautiful but in popular culture, they are best known for the tree in front of which Draco Malfoy was turned into a ferret in Harry Potter. It has become a tourist destination & fans do their best to cast a spell - though no ferrets have been spotted as of yet.
Another (below) freezing period here in Oxford ❄️❄️❄️
Our Chaplain, Erica Longfellow, has been photographing the frost around College - look out for some of her beautiful photos over the next few days, starting with this one of the iron screen in Garden Quad.
Happy Pi Day everyone! New College’s brilliant Mathematics lecturer, Dr James Munro, tells us why there’s still so much to learn about

And we're back! Such a pleasure to finally say our choristers and clerks are singing evensong tonight for the first time in seven months. You can watch live at 6.45 on the New College Choir YouTube channel:
A look down New College Lane through the Bodleian gate. The New College Bell Tower just peeking over the Bridge of Sighs as well!
Our thanks to

on 28th and 29th June! Our wonderful students will be leading tours of New College and a number of our tutors will offer subject sessions. Find out more here:
Spring is on its way! Behind the Mound is a blanket of early spring flowers (snowdrops, crocuses, and aconites), bringing some much-missed colour to the gardens.
Were you up bright and early to see this incredible sunrise over New College today?
Thank you to Aimee, our Executive Assistant to the Warden, who captured this beautiful picture of Front Quad!

Congratulations to all of our students that matriculated on Saturday!
The ceremony formalises students' admission to the University's academic community, and students had a celebratory brunch and photographs in College afterwards.
We're so glad you had a nice day for it! 🎓
