The overcrowding is precipitated by two things 1. Fear that time will run out or 2. Food and money might run out. The only way to ensure physical distancing is to eliminate both. So open shopping and remittance services everyday and have military help with logistics.
Learn from the unfolding experience. Have line monitoring from early so that those who come will see a line already and fall in. The authorities have to have first presence and not be trying to correct what has gone bad already. The idea of a lockdown is to stop transmission .
@mullings_clive
Your so correct. The lockdown in its current form is not effective. I suggest they zone the areas appropriately and have everywhere open as normal daily till 3pm. At this rate it's best they remove the border restrictions as that's the nightmare
@mullings_clive
In a novel way, you may be right! Those two factors, coupled with the sheer number of persons needing to access supplies, could give rise, to a worse situation than that which attempts are being made to prevent.
@mullings_clive
We are too indiscipline for things to work in it's current form lock down for 7 days nobody moves access the situation after the do a control opening for a day if situation persists it continues up to 21days that's the best way to deal with it
@mullings_clive
I have said before , from 4pm to 7pm Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays
Elderly 65 up shop Sundays only 9am to 2pm
Mondays Surbames A-E
Tuesdays F-J
Wednesdays K-O
Thursdays P- T
Fridays U-Z
10am to 3pm
Saturdays -Sanitization for all establishments
@mullings_clive
My opinion too. Open every day and insist on social distancing and wearing of masks. People will not all rush the same day. Canโt accommodate 250,000 people in one day in Portmore
@mullings_clive
Mr. Mulling one systemic thing that cause this also is usual attitude of workers. Everything in Ja is slow. I have always watch jcan operate on a 'dnt care attitude' long time. Things must change. So now there is pandemic and these old way of doing things make it worse.
@mullings_clive
Messaging wise as well perhaps one/some of the press conferences could be dedicated to other Ministers such as those in charge of Commerce and Agriculture so people can feel assured about food security.
