The symptoms of H1N1 are very serious. Were it not for the interview with Alan Magnus this morning the nation would not have known! RIP Kerry.

Health Minister Dr. @christufton has placed the country on alert following a significant increase in the number of cases of fever and respiratory (influenza-like) illnesses since the start of the year. Dr. Tufton addressed the House of Representatives yesterday.

@mullings_clive @KhiaJosina Where have you been? We were warned a month ago by @christufton . He has repeatedly made statements for us to be on guard for the flu. H1N1 is not new to Jamaica and sadly every year a few persons will succumb to it.

@mullings_clive I want to know what is new strategy being employed by MOH of concealing the presence or outbreaks of serious illnesses, particularly viral infections. That cannot be good. An informed population is best when fighting health crises.
