The difference between an alcoholic and not, the alcoholic doesn't show up after they drank. Remember when you decide to skip something.

@mikerusanoff An alcoholic skips responsibilities after drinking, while others show up. Don't skip out.

@mikerusanoff The first thing about stopping to be an alcoholic is to admit that the person is alcoholic. Many alcoholics unfortunately are unable to get over it and therefore never change and get out of their vice and behaviour.

@mikerusanoff I didn't get it man. Is it about alcoholism or something else? The last line makes me think it's an analogy but I can't figure out.

@wisdomicz Yeah, should have stated more clearly. It is about when you have an addiction, the clear marker is when you don't show up. It could be gambling, drugs, etc

@mikerusanoff I agree with this, although I have known a couple carpenters that would start drinking at 10 am and we're some of the best carpenters I have ever seen. But for the most part alcohol I find to be net negative in my life.

@mikerusanoff I wrote a related thread for people going through alcohol addiction, chronic illness and depression in hopes to motivate other people in their misery:
