Of the things I’ve heard you say, none of which have lacked importance or been to me pearls before swine, this struck such a chord with me, I can’t quit thinking about it. The thought that hypocrisy of folks like me has caused the departure of many from orthodoxy is horrifying.

The most broken thing in the Christian faith is the lack of accountability for choices, if we can quote some scripture. Ignore Jesus' instructions because we have other scripture. Since scripture, no personal responsibility for our choice of one or the other.

Doesn't it all come down to loving God & loving our neighbors as ourselves? Isn't the greatest of these love? Won't they know we are Christians by our love? Love shouldn't be bound by politics, but in many cases, sadly it is. I'd rather err on the side of compassionate liberalism

You make a fair point
My experience is that willingness to dialogue is lacking far more with conservatives than with everyone else
It's what happens when one confuses "inerrancy of Scripture" with "inerrancy of me"
