Thinking of all atheists as basement-dwellers or whatever weird idea of them people have is like thinking of all Muslims as terrorists because all ISIS members are Muslims or all Christans as KKK members because all KKK members were Christan.

That isn’t really the point. It is cringy to see a subreddit do it. Donating from the “atheist society” would be fine.
Just like it would be cringy to see r/catholicism donate and not the Catholic Church.
