Immediately following October 7th, virtually every Western leader was united in favor of Israel’s right to respond. It’s hard to properly fathom just how completely and utterly Netanyahu has botched support that once seemed unshakable.

Sigh. Again, ppl were with Israel in theory…there was (is) literally no way to remove Hamas without fully occupying Gaza (incl Rafah)
The maddening part was *everyone knew this & Biden (knowing this!) said “Hamas has to go” for 5 months
How else could it go down??
@lxeagle17
The question I have is tempo. Did Bibi deliberately slow down the war in an effort to delay elections, or was this the Israeli plan from the beginning. It seems somewhat surprising that the IDF wouldn’t have some kind of plan in place to at least somewhat rapidly take Gaza.

Biden is doing his utmost best to save the remaining hostages. Their families are counting on him cause they don’t trust their government anymore, and rightly so. Invading Rafah completely jeopardizes that and Biden knows that too well. This is the position he MUST take.
@lxeagle17
They're with Israel until Israel actually tries to respond, then it's nothing but finger-wagging and delusions about some fan-fiction "pure" war where no civilians get hurt. Gaza was always going to be invaded, regardless of who was the leader.

Nicolas II: I'm going to botch a major war and ruin my family's dynasty and legacy and doom my country to decades of suffering
Bibi: Hold my beer
