to start off, it’s relevant to know that i have pots and hsd, so i have chronic pain everywhere and i become very sick (pre-syncope mainly in my case) in heat, high emotions, and exerting situations as these trigger pots symptoms!
i am an ambulatory mobility aid user and i
1/12
brought my rollator to use during the day !! to start off everyone was very helpful and getting into the festival was very easy, with lines for accessibility and therefore not having to wait in line (a trigger for my symptoms)! when i got there, i went right towards the
2/12
accessibility booth that was clearly marked with a large sign! at the counter i had to fill in a google form that asked what ada needs i had (sign language seating area or seating area for those with mobility aids etc.) and was given a wrist band that allowed access for me
3/12
and one guest (i was with my little sister)! then we went over to the t-mobile stage (where lovejoy would perform) to check out the seating area for later! we went down the main road in order to see everything they had available and when we got to the stage area, we had our
4/12
first issue. in order to get to the stage from the main road, you had to go down stairs or a grassy hill. there was a way to get to the stage without stairs/hill but that was if you went down a sidewalk and not the main path. this was possible for me as i am able to walk
5/12
but was still annoying and would’ve been difficult for a wheelchair user to navigate, especially as this was not expressed through signs or anything. but we made it to the stage. the seating area was clearly labeled which was nice but it was also limited so it was first come

first served! this didn’t end up being an issue for us but as a precaution that means we stayed there as we didn’t want to not have access when lovejoy was performing. there were two big issues with the seating area though. the first one being that we were very far from the
7/12
stage, therefore it was hard to see. thankfully we had a very good view of the screens, but we felt excluded from the crowd experience (photo i took for reference, this was also zoomed in). the second issue, which was the biggest for me is that the seating area was under
8/12
direct sunlight and was entirely black. it was incredibly hot that day and the seating area was absolutely scorching. before lovejoy even started, i had to take two doses of emergency meds i brought bc i was feeling sick. i managed to get through the set, but was extremely
9/12
sick by the end, to the point i had to leave the festival. my little sister and i wanted merch so we made our way to the stand after and realized for the general lollapalooza merch there was no accessibility line, thankfully there was one for the band merch so we went and
10/12
got the merch we wanted very quickly. on the way out i almost fainted and nearly fell over multiple times. plus it was extremely busy at that point and the crowds were not very kind for making room for me to get through. we did get out though and found nearby shade until
11/12
our ride was there. overall i would say that the accessibility services was a 5/10 because for a big festival they did well, but they could definitely have done a lot better and the stuff they did have ended up exasperating my symptoms
