The Iraq war wouldnโt have happened if Gore won. Roe would not have been overturned if Hillary had won. You all just care more about your very boring political identities than about the sum total of human suffering. Itโs stupid and disgusting and I judge you
I think Shapiro would fuck up the vibe shift and I think we underestimate the vibes at our own peril. Dems really fucked up with their response to the college protests. We do not want to bring that energy back
Chappell Roan reveals she originally planned to accept the invite to the White House and then refuse to perform, reading Palestinian poetry instead:
โ[My publicist said] You fuck with the president and the government, your security is not the same, and neither is your familyโs.โ
I was told not to tweet this until the houses adjourned for fear of jinxing it, but the Minnesota legislature just completed what is probably the most productive session anywhere in the country since probably the New Deal. Sweeping bills and reforms across every area of life.
I just wanna remind people that chapo is actually very close to the center of power wifh the bernie movement. They were headlining the victory party in Iowa and leading chants of f*ck Elizabeth Warren on the night of the Iowa caucus. These arenโt incidental supoorters, they are
The fact that this primary has included a major scandal accusing Elizabeth Warren of faking her pregnancy related dismissal in the 70s but not one msm article about bernie not paying child support around that same time is a microcosm of why heโs beating her

candidates. It definitely keeps your faction tight. But it also keeps them angry and unwilling to cooperate or build coalitions. It also normalizes sexism, homophobia, and racism as acceptable tactics on the โleftโ.
valued surrogates. Itโs actually pretty important to understanding the dynamics and culture of that campaign to see how theyโve *benefited* from the dirtbag left. It would be as if pod save america had spent the last 4 years solely caping for warren while denigrating other
Warren stuck by m4a all fucking year. She never wavered despite months of attacks from centrists and a full on disinformation campaign from sanders aligned media. When we say she does not owe the old man who called her a liar on national TV an endorsement we mean it
Understanding history and legacy is one thing, but explicitly race-based campaigning isโto borrow a buzzwordโweird. Granting that these folks are well/meaning, the Harris campaign should kindly ask them not to do this under her name or banner. Exude normalcy.
I still feel pretty deeply that Bidenโs unpopularity is not actually driven by elite consensus, and they are the last ones to this party. I cannot tell you how many times I talked to normal (not online) people BEFORE the debate about how they didnโt like sticking with Biden
This is on Joe Biden. No one even wanted him to do that fucking debate. He could have said it was beneath him, but he and his delusional campaign thought it was how heโd start turning around a race he was LOSING
To everyone who blew the debate up into a giant, multi-cycle-dominating issue: great fucking job.
We took what was a clearly survivable setback and made it into the biggest story of the summer.
Regardless of it's Joe or Kamala, the damage you have done is incalculable.
The coded language, the women be fightinโ narrative, the use of a Kate sighting โ while sick โ to best Meghan for a column.
Itโs reductive. Itโs harmful to both women.

What I love about AOC is that sheโs transparent to a fault. Sheโs also very very smart. I donโt discount anything she has to say. But one thing she absolutely doesnโt address here is the elephant in the room. Joe Biden is no longer capable of campaigning in an effective way.
AOC says she's not calling out the people who have publicly called for Biden to resign but the ones who are too cowardly to say what they believe publicly but are happy to talk to journalists anonymously.
If Biden does indeed drop out, will he still speak at the convention next month? Will he make campaign stops? Attend fundraisers? Or will he basically sit the rest of the campaign out?
If youโve gotten to the point where you think the POD BOYS secretly want trump you are in a state of deep denial โ hundreds or even thousands of likes for shit like this ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
the way sanders is seen as *more* authentic and caring after his *two* failed runs, and warren is considered a spoilerish hasbeen makes me wanna scream. The gd sexism of it all. The economic left has no interest in dealing with its sexism and it makes me feel alienated from it
Nothing will stop me from voting, donating, and volunteering to stop trump. But the condescending conventional wisdom on Shapiro sounds exactly like the condescending CW on Biden being the strongest candidate. Tired of being treated like Iโm dumb for stating the obvious
Another reason I think Harris is truly a generational leader โ sheโs willing to take chances in a big way. Respect her tho I do, it is sort of the opposite of how HRC navigated her position
FYI: Walz was not the safe pick. Shapiro would have been. Had Harris chosen him, all the Very Serious Pundits would be praising her now. Walz came out of nowhere. There was nothing safe about choosing him.
Warren had 250,000 NEW donors in Feb alone. She raised 1 million dollars a day. You can give us all your clever horrible takes about how she shld drop out but what it comes down to is that you really don't respect the movement she built or think we're worth fighting for. I see u
If youโre so dumb about politics that you canโt see what an exceptional senator this man is, and how desperately the party needs him to do whatever necessary to win, then I encourage you to find another hobby

The one where the guy said he just had to pick something up after we had dinner and we ended up at his twin sisterโs apartment and they had a weeeeird energy to their relationship and they both ignored me and focused on each other until I left
Also, for the record, I donโt think the โvibeโ is being Jewish. The problem is being personally responsible for unpopular crackdowns as a governor and comparing the protestors to the kkk. I think this can be used against him on social media to push 3rd party voting
Sigh. I think Bidenโs probably gonna hang on. I also think itโs horrible the way weโre being lied to by his people & gaslit by his stans, and if we donโt manage to drag this ancient narcissist over the finish line I will look back at this moment with a particular level of rage.
Iโve voted for the most left candidate in every election my whole life. Knocked doors too. Donated etc. Watching people Iโve respected for years co-sign sexism with silence in order to destroy Elizabeth Freakin Warren has me rethinking a lot of things right now. Itโs not fun.
@areyouawitchor2
I think the way she handles this is horrible and counterproductive. She was also the person in this situation with more power. The way she grabs at him is just completely inappropriate.
The case against Biden is:
HIS POLLS ARE BAD
MAYBE SOMEONE ELSE WOULD BE BETTER
Thatโs it. Could be right, could be wrong. There is no secret knowledge that Pelosi and Schumer and others have. All the fanatical certainty everyone is expressing is the product of groupthink.
In a parliamentary system it would be obvious that Biden had lost the trust of his party and needed to step down. These are the dynamics. People have to consent to be led. Itโs that simple and the rest is noise. There is no rebuilding this
YOU MEAN TO TELL ME I HAVE BEEN GROVELING THIS WOMAN TO ENDORSE BERNIE SANDERS TO ENSURE MY FAMILY ISNโT DEPORTED UNDER TRUMP, AND SHE HAS BEEN PRACTICING AN SNL SKIT INSTEAD OF CAMPAIGNING IN MICHIGAN!!!
Warren is actually the leading expert on bankruptcy from medical debt and built her career on protecting people from that very situation. These bernie folks should like read the Wikipedia article about her sometime
Iโm deeply grateful Biden stepped aside. But Iโm not a goldfish so I remember how many people had to push really really hard to make it happen. You canโt celebrate his decision as wise while denigrating the people who made it possible. But I guess you will.
Bernie has always had issues with powerful women. Please see how quickly and emphatically he embraced Biden in 2020. Then compare that to his treatment of Clinton, Warren, and now Harris.
I donโt knowโฆ this is pretty consistent with what Iโve thought of both of them for a long time. Bernie doesnโt think a woman can win, and Nancy Pelosi is about a thousand times better at the inside game than him
It's July 2024. Bernie is a Biden dead-ender. Nancy Pelosi is doing round-the-clock lobbying trying to get Biden off the ticket because she knows he's going to lose. Up is down. Day is night.
When Iโm on this website I get depressed about
@ewarren
chances at the nom. But when I talk to democrats in real life I feel a lot more hopeful. This is definitely not over.
In the end, not only did Shapiro not seem nearly as much like an electoral juggernaut as he was presented, he also seems much more dime-a-dozen with his Obama impression and law degree and weird bizarre blue state scandals
Rather than pick the very popular governor of a neck-and-neck must-win purple state, Harris chose a dime-a-dozen blue-state governor who gives feels to progressives. That's about what I'd have expected from her a month ago.
@rabiasquared
@ewarren
I initially supported Warren. When she backed away from Medicare For All, I decided to bail on her.
People stopped supporting Warren when she decided to triangulate.
Why I'm voting for Warren: 1. I truly think she is the person running who is most suited to the job of president. She combines attention to detail + moral consistency + strength + vision + deep knowledge + the ability to make and keep coalitions together. She's unafraid to LEAD.
The narrative that warren is a liar is based on a deeply sexist trope that goes back as far as Ancient Greece and you canโt be pushing it and building a truly progressive movement at the same time ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Men lie so much and never get called on it. For example, Joe rogan says Biden (!) and warren tried to get on his show, both campaigns deny it, but no oneโs out here calling him a liar.
The biggest problem Sanders faced this election was Elizabeth Warren. She stayed in the race attacking Sanders long after she had no path and wouldn't endorse after dropping out. A Warren endorsement would have put Sanders over the top in MN and MA. Would be a different race.
With all of his scandals and baggage, itโs pretty fucking crazy that weโre even discussing the possibility (much less the pros and cons) of Shapiro as VP in the first place!!!
They really did take her debate performances for granted and basically everything else about her and I will stop being mad about it never sorry thatโs just me thatโs where Iโm at
This debate is way less exciting and informative without Elizabeth Warren. She was so dominant that she made it look routine and people took her for granted.
#DemDebate
The subtext here is that young people need to shut up and have less fun. We all know the coconut (unlike the lotus) springs from a unique Harris anecdote and not her ethnicity (unlike the lotus). Telling young people to shut up almost lost this race. Letโs rethink this approach
If we're keeping it buck, coconut is a slur (calling a South Asian person coconut is akin to calling a Black person oreo)โ
so maybe while we're in the initial stages of this excitement, folks can swap out the coconuts for a lotus since Kamala means lotus in Sanskrit. ๐ชท
I will always respect that she waited to do this until after warren was out of the race considering how much she has to gain.
As to the bros, welp ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
I already voted. I donโt need to switch to anybody. But warren twitter I love you no matter where your vote goes. Not proud resister though. Heโs a clown.
I just think the current field is so unrelentingly bad and/or flawed OTHER than
@ewarren
that I trust she is gonna have another bounce based on the logic of elimination alone
The primary right now is the story of American power: 3 white men with a history of losing campaigns and failing upwards, 1 white woman held to impossible standards to keep her seat at the table, and everyone else out the door
I see no evidence in this story of trying to go around harris โ seems like theyโre just talking process. Also, once the delegates are released itโs an open convention no matter what the rest of us want. the Biden campaign is pushing this Harris in peril narrative to protect him
News: Nancy Pelosi voiced support for an open nomination process if Joe Biden drops out of the race.
Democrats stressed they werenโt opposed to Kamala Harris, and many will endorse her, but they donโt like the appearance of a coronation.

Kamala Harris is closely aligned with obama liberals โ she is an Obama liberal. She first got noticed outside of California working as a surrogate on his 08 campaign. Obama had a crush on her. LEARN THE LORE
