The more I pass these new additions the more I get angry
The idea that โฌ750k from Failte Ireland to enhance city experience resulted in this is a travesty
Second picture is my fave street. Simple. Open. Welcoming
No Failte in our overly-engineered, frosted cages

I genuinely don't understand the appeal of frosted glass. I sat with a coffee in the Gloria Jeans "box" last w/e. It felt claustrophobic & - stating the obvious - you can't see out! Surely the appeal of "outdoor dining" is the feel of "space", the views, the "people watching".
@SuGriff
That is the essence of what a city experience is. It is a theatre. You watch. You are watched. You take the 'set' in and everyone has a part to play. We seem determined to do very opposite
@limerickcitybiz
I have been watching the glass going in here for the last few days. It will be so high that you will not be able to see into the restaurants and you can absolutely forget about seeing out.
@Clonville
Its such a pity. Someone somewhere thought these were the right thing to do. Misguided and lacking in understand of purpose of a street and purpose of outside seating. It is about interaction, not enclosure
@limerickcitybiz
Had a great view from my favourite sandwich place there during the week on lunch, of the front end of a transit and the arse of a taxi framed by a 3ft gap either side of which was nothing but frosted glass. There are trees and a massive open path but I wouldn't know about em

Why is it that all 'improvements' in Limerick just become a sea of concrete? In the face of the

, we're entirely ignoring the importance of green space
@limerickcitybiz
The build outs on Bedford Row are much better- I donโt understand why there isnโt uniformity of approach. Is it simply lack of interest / expertise / follow through or just that the (misguided) businesses get what they want, no matter how distasteful?

Shocking, an absolute eye sore and the height of the glass is a joke. Every single business has also lost itโs individuality. Will bring zero buzz or culture to the streets. It would take Limerick City Council to make a complete balls of a simple project ๐
