It is genuinely staggering how dangerous it is to cycle in Dublin. Cycled home from the Mater to rathmines. Dedicated, protected cycle lane the whole way - six cars parked in cycle lane, three cars pulled across me to turn left (no indicators) and taxis driving in cycle lane.

When I had rona, I stayed in Citywest hotel, alone. Meals were delivered to your outside my room, accompanied by a knock on the door. We were allowed an hour of what I called ‘yard time’ per day, which was a very small section of the golf course, that we could walk around. (1)

Have been informed they @bankofireland intend on discontinuing their loan for Graduate Entry Medicine students from June of next year, leaving us with no alternative option. This is going to further limit access to the course that is already incredibly restricted. @AccessMedIre

Had my first experience of trousers-ripping in my physio career while helping a patient to lift their legs back into bed in ICU. Big audible riiiiiip. I will die on the hill that office-wear style trousers should not be standard for hospital physio uniforms.

This was a saving grace for me and I was so thankful for it. We had to wear masks obviously and we were asked not to speak to other people staying there. It was timed so that hotel staff were not around the hotel and therefore put them at minimal risk. Beyond that, 23 hrs/day (2)

Before the car bros start, yes I know that cyclists break traffic lights, yes I know that some cyclists don't wear reflective gear or use lights. I frankly don't really care, that's quite irrelevant to the point I'm trying to make. It is inherently so so dangerous to cycle.

It is already an incredibly inaccessible course, removing the ONLY loan available to us is only going to further limit people. The entire idea behind graduate entry medicine was to create diversity in medicine and bring people from different backgrounds into the field.

Hospital catering staff are truly some of the best. So kind and friendly to students. One asked me if I was stuck for money today because all I got was mashed potatoes. I had some other food with me but just ♥️♥️♥️
