Does this output the audio from that port, or would I use the audio from the Famicom output? Does the original PPU still do any of the work, or is the PPU being emulated with FPGA to produce the output? Does it work with the zapper? Are the palettes customizable?

Adapter has audio output. PPU still doing the work, adapter will not work if ppu will be broken or something. Works with zapper

Is this board acting as its own Famicom/NES and bypassing the unit itself sans required chips? Just curious how it is processing the signals.

Adapter calculate beam position based on ppu address bus activity and then generate pixels intercepted on ppu data bus. There is no ppu or cpu emulation
