Breaking - Fiji's ex-PM Frank Bainimarama suspended for 3 years for making seditious comments as MPs clashed Friday late into night. Bainimarama is out until February 2026. PM Sitiveni Rabuka appealed for the FijiFirst leader to be forgiven and his suspension reduced. #FijiPol

@kelvinfiji PM should not appeal as the Privilege elected member of Parliament has done their job and that's what they stood for. Representation needs to be done by Bainimarama himself if he thinks his the godfather of Fiji First.

@kelvinfiji @pseudofijian It’s a win win for Rabuka either way …he wins the optics of looking like he tried whilst also seeing Bainimarama off ..out of Parliament ..isn’t that the result?

@kelvinfiji A healthy opp is essential for a govt to function transparently n efficiently. The fact that the opp, mainly Bai himself represents a significant portion of the population can't be ignored even though he acted foolishly. Not the gov, opp is the greater voice of the people.

@kelvinfiji PM knows how much the opposition need Bainimarama so he shows compassion. True signs of maturity and humility. They've also known each other for a very long time. He must feel that 3 years is a little too long.
