Nablus is under siege, cut off from the West Bank by the Israeli military’s checkpoints and barriers, and settler violence. Today is day 9 of the “indefinite” lockdown of over 170,000 Palestinians. This collective punishment is devastating to Palestinians across the West Bank.🧵
Total siege on Nablus means anyone coming in or out of the city is forced through dehumanizing, dangerous checkpoints, threatened with invasive physical and digital searches, and are at even higher risk than usual of punitive violence at the hands of the Israeli military.
This siege affects over 420,000 Palestinians who travel to and from Nablus for work, medical care, and vital supplies. Ambulances are held up. Settler attacks on olive harvests are increasing. Lives and livelihoods are at risk.
The checkpoints to enter and exit Nablus create traffic jams that Palestinians are forced to wait in for hours and stretch for miles. The economic implications of the siege are devastating. Since the lockdown began, trade in the West Bank decreased by 70%.
Palestinians who travel to Nablus for medical care are now stuck in line for hours, if they’re able to enter at all, on top of the restrictions on movement they face daily. The consequences of this will be deadly.
The Israeli government is attempting to justify the collective punishment they’re imposing on over 420,000 Palestinians. Do not accept their rationale for punitive violence. Stand with Palestinians as they defy these horrors. All eyes on Palestine.

Why don’t they go thru the blockade and get services from Egypt? Seriously, Egypt borders Gaza on 1 side. We never hear of Palestinians going into Egypt for aid or medical care- despite Egypt being an Arab nation.
The Palestinian ministry of sacred properties released an announcement to the mosque preachers dictating it is necessary to glorify terrorist Udai Al-Tamimi as a hero and a martyr.
