Yesterday my 3 year old gave me a hug she calls, “A super, mega huggie”. She squeezed me as hard as she could for almost a minute. It was so beautiful I almost cried. After that she lifted up my shirt & asked, “Why’s your tummy fat?” Being a parent is a wild ride.

Today we got together at a rehearsal space on LI to practice for the 20th anniversary shows. It turned out to be the rehearsal space where Taking Back Sunday formed and practiced for our first few years. 20 years to end up about 100 feet from where we started. Weird.

When I started touring I was hesitant to go too far from venues, to try new restaurants or meet new people. Anthony Bourdain helped me appreciate & take advantage of the amazing opportunities I have as a touring musician. It’s sad he’s gone so soon.
